What are some practical ways you can improve company culture?
As we covered in our previous blog, company culture is not something physically tangible. It embodies different characteristics of the company which helps employees understand which direction to go. The four different models of company culture were clan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market. We will go over different strategies to improve the current company culture of your business.
Some of these tips may not be befitting for your company culture. Be sure to assess different ideas before implementing them.
--Recognize your Company--💡
Before you can start anything, you have to have a clear understanding of your company’s culture. Figure out which of the four models your company belongs to. If you are unsure, check out our previous blog on What is Company Culture? for more information.
--Be Transparent--💬
Trust is essential in any relationship. Whether it's concerning newly emerging ventures or already established businesses, employees become more engaged in a transparent environment. This entails frequent communication with team members and encouraging collaborations amongst teams.
--Reward System--🎁
Some employees may not give their utmost potential and do the required minimum. This could be due to a lack of rewards and appreciation. Employees who don’t feel recognized are more likely to leave or do the bare minimum. There are two ways you can provide these rewards: intrinsic and extrinsic. You can engrave a sense of satisfaction with your employees by giving them an assignment with personal significance. Extrinsic rewards may include financial benefits such as bonuses or commissions.

Cultivating strong relationships within teams produces better engagement and commitment to their work. You can try team-building activities in the office or simply try having more open conversations with each other. This will allow team members to grow closer personally and improve collaboration.
